For the first time, Sikkim will host a medical college allowing students from the state to pursue their medical studies without leaving home.
The government of Sikkim announced the launch of a medical college within the state, marking a historic step for local aspiring doctors. Until now, students from Sikkim had to relocate to other states to enroll in MBBS programmes, incurring additional costs and logistical challenges. The new institution will provide a full‑time medical curriculum, enabling students to complete their undergraduate medical education in their home state.
