The Sidd Baba temple in Dompur village, Muraina, found itself surrounded by 4 to 5 feet of water as the Chambal River’s level rose sharply. Local residents reported that the rising waters had inundated the temple premises, leaving the sanctum partially submerged. Despite the flood, the temple’s priest, Narsinh Das, stood firm, insisting that he would not leave the shrine or extinguish the eternal flame that has been kept burning for generations. He urged devotees to continue their prayers and assured them that the temple’s sanctity would remain intact. Authorities have begun to assess the damage and are coordinating with the district administration to ensure the safety of the temple’s devotees and to restore normalcy.
