Former bowler Amit Mishra claimed that Virat Kohli ignored calls and messages after promising a comeback for India. The incident highlights Kohli's focus on his return to international cricket.
In a recent statement, former Indian pacer Amit Mishra alleged that Virat Kohli has been ignoring phone calls and messages after promising a comeback to the national side. Mishra, who has played alongside Kohli in the past, said the cricketer’s focus has been on training and fitness rather than responding to external communication.
Kohli, who has been out of international cricket since 2023, has been working on his form and fitness to secure a place in the upcoming series. The claim comes as India prepares for its next set of fixtures, and Kohli’s return is closely watched by fans and selectors alike.
While the cricketer has not publicly responded to Mishra’s remarks, analysts suggest that the focus on personal preparation is common among players seeking a comeback. The situation underscores the pressures faced by top athletes to balance media attention with performance goals.
India’s selectors are reportedly monitoring Kohli’s progress closely, and the cricket board has not issued any official statement regarding the allegations. The cricketing community remains divided over the best path to a successful return for the former captain.
