Shubman Gill Says India’s Squad Has Sufficient Depth for New Zealand Tour

Shubman Gill, one of India’s leading top‑order batsmen, said the national side is well‑equipped with a deep pool of talent as it prepares for the forthcoming tour of New Zealand. He highlighted that the recent performances of several fringe players have reinforced the team’s options across batting and bowling departments.

The statement came as the Board of Control for Cricket in India finalises the squad, with selectors looking to balance experience and emerging talent. Gill’s remarks suggest that the management can afford to rotate players without compromising competitiveness.

Analysts view his confidence as a positive signal ahead of a series that will test India’s adaptability in foreign conditions, and it underscores the growing depth that has developed in Indian cricket over recent years.
