Police in Assam's Sreemanta Nagar have recovered items reported stolen and have taken a shop owner and another individual into custody.
Police in the Sreemanta Nagar area of Assam announced that a cache of goods reported missing in a recent theft has been recovered. The recovered items, identified as belonging to multiple local businesses, were found during a targeted operation conducted by the district police team.
During the same operation, authorities detained two suspects, one of whom is a shop owner whose premises were linked to the stolen merchandise. The shop owner, along with the second individual, was taken into police custody for further questioning.
Investigators said they will continue to probe the case to determine the full extent of the theft network and will pursue additional charges as evidence emerges. No injuries were reported, and the recovered goods are being returned to their rightful owners.
