The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has expelled Amritsar member Amarjeet Singh Chawla after sexual assault allegations and stripped him of his role as additional head of the Akal Takht.

In addition to his removal from the SGPC, Chawla was also stripped of his appointment as the additional head (Additional Hazar) of the Akal Takht, the highest temporal authority of Sikhism.
