Selaulim Dam Spillover Delayed to New Record Low Date Amid Drought

The Selaulim dam, located near Ponda in Goa, has pushed its spillover to the latest date in a 12‑year span, officials said on Tuesday. The delay comes as the region has experienced below‑average rainfall during the monsoon season, keeping reservoir levels lower than expected. The dam’s spillway, which normally opens in late September, is now projected to open in early October.
