Seelampur leads Delhi’s minority seats with 76.6% voter verification in SIR

The latest figures from the Supplementary Electoral Roll (SIR) verification exercise indicate that Delhi’s minority‑dominant constituencies are registering higher verification percentages than many other parts of the city. Seelampur topped the list with a 76.6% verification rate, suggesting that fewer voter records are likely to be deleted in that segment.

Neighbouring areas such as Rohini and Shakur Basti also reported verification rates above the city average, reinforcing the trend of robust voter validation in these pockets. In contrast, upscale localities like R K Puram showed noticeably lower verification percentages, pointing to a different pattern of voter list updates.

Okhla emerged as an outlier among the lower‑verification zones, with its reduced rate possibly linked to recent migration flows that have altered the resident voter base.

Election officials have noted that higher verification percentages typically translate into more stable electoral rolls, reducing the risk of inadvertent disenfranchisement ahead of upcoming polls.
