Sakala Act Expanded to Cover Government Employees for Over 15 Administrative Services in Karnataka
The Karnataka government has extended the Sakala scheme to include government staff, ensuring timely processing of salary fixation, leave approval, medical reimbursements and pension matters.
The Karnataka government announced that the Sakala (timely service) Act will now apply to government employees, covering more than 15 administrative services.
Under the extension, services such as salary fixation, leave sanction, medical reimbursement and pension processing will be delivered within the time limits prescribed by the Sakala Act.
The move seeks to give government workers the same prompt service enjoyed by the public, aiming to reduce delays, improve transparency and boost administrative efficiency.
Officials said the rollout will involve updating online portals and training staff to meet the stipulated timelines, benefitting thousands of government employees across the state.
