The Bihar government has cleared a Rs 447.6 million project to widen a 4.5 km stretch between Ramdayalu Nagar and Chandni Chowk in Muzaffarpur into a six‑lane road, with approvals from NHAI and other agencies.
The state’s National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and related departments have granted permission for a six‑lane upgrade of the 4.50‑kilometre road linking Ramdayalu Nagar with Chandni Chowk in Muzaffarpur. The project, budgeted at Rs 447.6 million (approximately 44.76 crore rupees), aims to widen the existing carriageway to improve traffic flow and safety.
The upgraded corridor will run through a densely populated part of the city, providing a direct, high‑capacity link between two major commercial hubs. Officials say the new alignment will accommodate growing vehicular demand and support local businesses by reducing travel time.
Construction is slated to begin after the final clearances are received, with an expected completion timeline of 18‑24 months. Once finished, the six‑lane road is projected to boost regional connectivity and stimulate economic activity in the surrounding neighborhoods.
