The Rajasthan High Court has issued an interim order suspending all appointments for the 2025 Assistant Professor English recruitment, citing concerns over the interview process.
The Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday passed an interim order staying all appointments made under the 2025 recruitment drive for Assistant Professors in English at state colleges. The bench directed the concerned authorities to halt the issuance of appointment letters until further hearing.
The recruitment, announced earlier this year, sought to fill vacant English faculty posts across government‑run colleges in the state. Applications were shortlisted and candidates were called for interviews, but several aspirants raised objections about the transparency and fairness of the selection process.
In its order, the court noted that the grievances raised by candidates warranted a detailed examination and that proceeding with appointments could prejudice the rights of those who contested the interview outcomes.
State education officials have said they will cooperate with the court and have already set up a committee to review the interview procedures. They added that the recruitment will resume only after the court’s concerns are addressed.
The suspension affects an estimated 150 positions, delaying the induction of new faculty members and potentially impacting the academic calendar of the affected institutions.
