Rajasthan Election Commission Sets Panchayati Raj Rules, ₹2,000 Fine, 6-Year Ban

In a recent order, the Rajasthan State Election Commission laid down a comprehensive set of regulations governing the conduct of Panchayati Raj elections across the state. The guidelines require candidates to maintain detailed accounts of all election‑related expenditures and to submit these records within the prescribed timeline. Use of campaign vehicles, loudspeakers, and the display of posters or banners is strictly regulated, with specific limits on duration and placement. Any breach of the rules will attract a monetary penalty of ₹2,000 and a six‑year disqualification from contesting future elections.
