The meteorological department has issued a rain alert for eleven districts in Rajasthan, with temperatures in Sri Ganganagar expected to near 40°C.

The Indian Meteorological Department released a rain alert today covering eleven districts across Rajasthan, citing an imminent rise in temperature and the likelihood of showers. The alert comes as forecasts show Sri Ganganagar, a north‑western district, approaching a scorching 40°C.
Temperatures in Sri Ganganagar are expected to hover just below the 40°C mark, raising concerns about heat‑related health risks and strain on water resources. Authorities have urged residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and be prepared for sudden downpours.
In addition to the alert, weather updates were provided for six major cities in the state, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Kota. These cities are expected to experience a mix of high temperatures and scattered thunderstorms over the next 24 hours. Citizens are advised to follow local advisories and take necessary precautions against heat and rain-related hazards.
