During a rally in Indore, Rahul Gandhi criticised the government for cutting the education budget, leaking exam papers and fostering corruption in the examination system.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a gathering in Indore on Thursday, accusing the central government of undermining the right to education. He highlighted a recent reduction in the education budget, calling it a direct blow to students across the country.

The opposition leader also pointed to recurring incidents of examination paper leaks, describing them as evidence of systemic corruption that harms meritocracy. He urged the government to strengthen safeguards and ensure transparent conduct of exams.

Gandhi reiterated that quality education is a constitutional right and that the state must allocate adequate resources to uphold it. He appealed to voters to hold the ruling party accountable for policies that, in his view, jeopardise the future of India's youth.

The speech, covered by local media, forms part of a broader campaign by the Congress party ahead of upcoming elections, focusing on education, health and employment issues.
