The iconic Qutub Minar in Delhi was lit up in the tricolour of ASEAN nations to celebrate the association’s 59th founding anniversary on Thursday.

The historic Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was illuminated in the colours of the 15 ASEAN member states to mark the 59th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The lighting ceremony took place on Thursday evening and was part of a series of cultural events organised by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the ASEAN Secretariat.

The display, which featured the red, white, and blue of the ASEAN flag, was projected onto the monument’s stone façade, creating a striking visual tribute to the partnership between India and Southeast Asian countries. Officials from both sides praised the gesture as a symbol of friendship and cooperation.

The event was attended by dignitaries from India and ASEAN, including the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore and representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat. The lighting was followed by a brief speech by the Indian Ambassador to the Philippines, who highlighted the growing economic and cultural ties between the two regions.
