Purnia police rescued a minor who was being trafficked under the guise of a beauty‑parlour employment and arrested six suspects, including a woman, in a large human‑trafficking bust.
Purnia police launched a coordinated operation on Thursday that led to the seizure of a human‑trafficking network operating through a local beauty parlour. The raid uncovered evidence that the gang lured young girls with promises of employment in the beauty industry, only to force them into commercial sexual exploitation.
Investigators identified a minor from Arunachal Pradesh among the victims. The girl was rescued from the parlour, provided medical assistance and handed over to child welfare authorities for rehabilitation.
Six individuals, including a woman identified as a key facilitator, were taken into custody. The suspects face charges under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to kidnapping and trafficking of minors.
Police officials said the bust is part of a broader crackdown on trafficking rings in Bihar and urged the public to report any suspicious recruitment activities.
