Police raid at Shahdol scrap yard seizes goods worth over ₹2 million, Meerut suspect arrested

Madhya Pradesh police conducted a raid on a scrap yard in Shahdol, confiscating goods valued at more than ₹2 million and taking a suspect from Meerूt into custody.
A police team in Madhya Pradesh carried out a surprise operation at a scrap yard in Shahdol, targeting illegal storage and trade of metal waste. The raid was part of an ongoing crackdown on unlicensed scrap handling in the region.
During the operation, officials seized items estimated to be worth over two million rupees. The confiscated material included assorted metal scraps and related equipment that were being stored without proper authorization.
Investigators also detained a man identified as a resident of Meerut, who is alleged to have been coordinating the illicit activities at the Shahdol site. He was placed in police custody for further questioning.
The Shahdol police have said that the case will be forwarded to the district court, where charges under the relevant waste‑management and anti‑smuggling statutes are expected to be filed.
