Police in Punjab have initiated a search operation for former Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaspal Singh, who is alleged to have been involved in the abduction and murder of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalsa in 1995.
The case, which has remained unsolved for more than two decades, saw Khalsa disappear after a public meeting in Patiala. His body was later found, and investigations pointed to Jaspal as a key suspect.
The Punjab Police have released a statement confirming that they are actively looking for Jaspal, who is believed to be in hiding. Authorities say the search is part of a renewed effort to bring closure to the long‑standing case.
