The quarry, which extracts stone for construction, is situated in the outskirts of Jaipur. The machine, used for breaking and moving stone, was reportedly working on a slope when it lost traction and fell into a previously unlined excavation pit.
Emergency services were called promptly. Rescue teams arrived within minutes, but the operator was pronounced dead at the scene. The quarry owner has been detained for questioning by the police.
