The government will credit Rs 18,880 crore to 9.44 crore farmer families on June 20 as the 23rd installment of the PM‑KISAN scheme.
New Delhi – The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare announced that on June 20 the 23rd tranche of the PM‑KISAN scheme will be credited directly to the bank accounts of 9.44 crore eligible farmer families, amounting to a total of Rs 18,880 crore.
The PM‑KISAN programme, launched in 2019, provides an annual cash assistance of Rs 6,000 per farmer to boost agricultural income and encourage investment in farm activities. This installment follows the earlier 22 disbursements made since the scheme’s inception.
Beneficiaries will receive the funds through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, using the Aadhaar‑linked bank details already on record. The government has urged farmers to verify their bank information on the official portal to avoid delays.
Officials said the disbursement aligns with the fiscal year's budgetary allocation for farmer welfare and reflects the administration's continued focus on rural financial inclusion.
The scheme is expected to reach remote and marginal farmers across all states, reinforcing the central government's commitment to agricultural support ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
