A man who vanished from Katihar, Bihar in 1992 after boarding a train with friends has reappeared 31 years later, now identified as Abdul Jabbir.

On 12 March 1992, Pintu Yadav vanished from Katihar district after boarding a train with friends, and his family has been searching for him ever since. The missing person was believed to have reached Radhikapur in West Bengal, but no trace was found. After 31 years, a man claiming to be the long‑lost Pintu Yadav has resurfaced in Katihar, now identifying himself as Abdul Jabbir. He was spotted by local residents and was quickly verified by his relatives, who confirmed his identity through a distinctive birthmark. The return has brought relief to the Yadav family, who had lived in uncertainty for more than three decades. Local police have opened an inquiry into the circumstances of his disappearance and subsequent reappearance.
