A 40-year‑old man undergoing hernia surgery at Vidya Hospital in Damoh died during the procedure, prompting his relatives to protest and accuse the medical staff of negligence.
Damoh, Madhya Pradesh – On Tuesday, a 40-year-old patient identified as Sachin Agrawal was admitted to Vidya Hospital for a routine hernia operation. During the surgery, the patient suffered a fatal complication and was declared dead on the operating table.
Family members who arrived at the hospital shortly after the incident reported that they were not provided with clear information about the cause of death. They alleged that the medical team failed to follow standard protocols, leading to what they described as gross negligence.
The relatives staged a protest inside the hospital premises, demanding an immediate inquiry and accountability from the doctors and hospital administration. Local authorities have been notified, and a preliminary report is expected to be filed with the district health office.
Hospital officials, when approached for comment, stated that they are cooperating with the investigation and will release a detailed statement after the official findings are compiled.
