Passenger bus teeters over gorge at Jamghat, Khargone after brake failure

A passenger bus travelling through the Jamghat stretch of Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh experienced a sudden brake failure, causing it to come to a halt over a deep gorge. The vehicle was left hanging precariously above the ravine, prompting immediate concern among onlookers.

Local authorities and rescue teams reached the scene promptly. Preliminary reports indicate that none of the passengers or the driver sustained injuries, and the situation was contained without a major collision.

Police officials have launched an investigation into the mechanical fault that led to the brake failure. They have urged bus operators to conduct thorough inspections of braking systems, especially on routes that traverse hilly terrain.

The incident underscores the importance of regular vehicle maintenance to prevent similar near‑misses on India's road network.
