Haryana's health department reported more than 100 new dengue infections in the past seven days, with Panchkula now reporting the highest tally, surpassing Gurgaon.

The Haryana State Health Department confirmed that over 100 additional dengue cases were recorded across the state in the last week, raising concerns among public‑health officials. The surge brings the cumulative count to a level that health authorities consider alarming, prompting intensified surveillance.

Data released on Thursday showed that Panchkula reported the highest number of new infections, overtaking Gurgaon, which previously led the district-wise tally. While exact figures for each city were not disclosed, Panchkula's rapid rise reflects a broader trend of vector‑borne disease spread in urban pockets.

In response, the state government has deployed additional medical teams to affected areas, increased mosquito‑control operations, and issued advisories for residents to eliminate standing water and use protective measures such as repellents and screened windows. Hospitals in Panchkula and neighboring districts have been instructed to prioritize dengue testing and treatment.

Health officials urge the public to remain vigilant, report any fever with joint pain promptly, and cooperate with local sanitation drives. The department will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as more data becomes available.
