The Rajya Sabha was informed that more than 34 lakh e‑shram workers in Jammu and Kashmir have been registered under the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana (PM‑JAY).
During a recent session of the Rajya Sabha, the government notified that over 34 lakh informal sector workers, known as e‑shram workers, in Jammu and Kashmir have been enrolled under the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana (PM‑JAY).
PM‑JAY is a health insurance scheme that provides coverage for hospitalization expenses to economically weaker sections and informal workers across the country. The enrollment of such a large cohort in Jammu and Kashmir marks a significant expansion of the scheme’s reach in the region.
