Authorities in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, confiscated more than 100 filled gas cylinders stored illegally in a residential neighbourhood and sealed the warehouse.
A joint enforcement team carried out a raid in a residential locality of Katni, Madhya Pradesh, after discovering an illegal storage site for gas cylinders. The operation uncovered more than one hundred filled cylinders that were being kept without any safety clearance.
The team seized all the cylinders and secured the premises, subsequently sealing the warehouse to prevent further violations. Officials noted that the storage arrangement posed a serious fire and explosion risk to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to identify the owners of the illegal depot and to determine whether any safety regulations were breached. The seized cylinders will be handed over to the appropriate regulatory body for safe disposal, and the case will be pursued under relevant safety and criminal statutes.
