Ahead of the upcoming polls, opposition parties have intensified criticism of the AAP administration, citing recent attacks on police personnel and targeting of party leaders.

Delhi's political climate grew tense this week as opposition parties ramped up criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government ahead of the scheduled state elections. Leaders from the BJP, Congress and other regional outfits accused the ruling administration of failing to maintain law and order, pointing to a series of incidents that have unsettled the capital.

In the past few days, police personnel reported being assaulted during routine duties, and several AAP functionaries said they were singled out for intimidation. The attacks, which occurred in different parts of the city, have been highlighted by opposition figures as evidence of a deteriorating security environment under the current government.

AAP officials responded by rejecting the allegations, stating that isolated incidents do not reflect the overall safety record of the administration. They urged the opposition to focus on policy debates rather than sensationalising criminal acts. The party also announced a meeting of senior leaders to review security protocols for its members.

With the election calendar now approaching, both the ruling party and the opposition are expected to intensify their campaigns. Analysts note that the recent violence could become a focal point in the political discourse, influencing voter sentiment in the weeks to come.
