Students are increasingly visiting Odisha to study its disaster management framework, which is praised for its effectiveness.
The state of Odisha has become a focal point for students seeking to understand practical disaster management. Its model, lauded for coordinated response and community involvement, is being examined by learners from various colleges and universities.
Educational tours and short‑term programs have been organized to give students a first‑hand view of the mechanisms that helped the state mitigate recent calamities. Participants observe how early warning systems, relief coordination and post‑disaster rehabilitation are integrated.
State officials say the initiative aims to nurture a new generation of disaster‑ready professionals and to spread best practices beyond Odisha's borders.
