Odisha Assembly Speaker and Women MLAs Attend All-India Capacity-Building Summit in Delhi

New Delhi, September 7 (Pragativadi) – The Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly travelled to the capital along with several women MLAs to join the All-India Capacity Building Summit. The summit, organized by a national think‑tank, aims to enhance legislative skills and promote gender‑sensitive policymaking across states.

During the three‑day event, participants attended workshops on law‑making, public policy analysis, and leadership development. The Odisha delegation highlighted the state's recent initiatives on women empowerment and rural development, seeking to share best practices with peers from other regions.

Officials said the presence of the Assembly Speaker underscores Odisha's commitment to strengthening legislative capacity and fostering greater representation of women in governance. The summit concluded with a resolution to convene similar sessions annually, rotating among major Indian cities.

The delegation returned to Bhubaneswar on Saturday, where they are expected to brief the state government on insights gathered at the summit.
