The Odisha Land Allotment Committee has cleared 63 project proposals, signaling a push to accelerate industrial development across the state.
The Odisha Land Allotment Committee (LLAC) today approved 63 industrial project proposals, a move aimed at accelerating the state’s industrial growth. The decision was announced during a committee meeting held in Bhubaneswar, with representatives from the state’s Department of Industries and various private investors in attendance.
The approved projects span a range of sectors, including manufacturing, renewable energy, and agro-processing, and are expected to create thousands of jobs across the state. LLAC officials highlighted that the projects meet the state’s criteria for land allocation, including environmental compliance and feasibility studies.
State officials said the approvals will be followed by a streamlined land allotment process, with the aim of reducing the time required for project initiation. The committee also emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, such as roads and power supply, to support the new industrial units.
Industry experts predict that the influx of new projects could boost Odisha’s GDP contribution from industry by up to 5% over the next five years. The government plans to monitor the progress of each project through regular audits and progress reports.
The LLAC’s decision comes as part of Odisha’s broader strategy to attract investment and position itself as a key industrial hub in eastern India.
