A resident of Athshil village in Odisha alerted authorities after spotting an adult cobra and what appeared to be eggs near a wood-apple tree. Snake rescuers subsequently found and safely released 30 baby cobras.
In a significant rescue operation in Odisha's Athshil village, approximately 30 baby cobras were safely retrieved from beneath a wood-apple tree. The incident came to light when a local resident observed a large adult cobra emerging from the vicinity of the tree, which was situated close to a dwelling.
Further investigation by the villager revealed the presence of what appeared to be snake eggs near the same location. Acting swiftly on this observation, the resident contacted the local snake helpline to report the situation.
Following the alert, snake rescuers arrived at the scene and successfully located and rescued the clutch of young cobras. The rescued hatchlings were subsequently released back into their natural habitat within a nearby forest, ensuring their safety and well-being.
