NGTC Orders 2.1 Crore Compensation as Bhopal Lower Lake Receives 8 ML Daily Sewage

NGTC has taken a stringent stance after learning that two drains are discharging roughly 8 million liters of untreated sewage into Bhopal’s Lower Lake every day. The Pollution Control Board has assessed an environmental compensation of 2.1 crore rupees to be paid over a period of 21 months. The compensation is intended to cover the ecological damage caused by the continuous influx of raw sewage. Authorities are expected to enforce stricter monitoring and ensure that the drains are properly treated to protect the lake’s water quality.
