NCVBDC chief Dr. Tanu Jain completed a three‑day tour of three districts in Madhya Pradesh to assess the spread of dengue, malaria and other vector‑borne diseases.
National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC) director Dr. Tanu Jain undertook a three‑day field mission across three districts of Madhya Pradesh to review the current situation of dengue, malaria and other vector‑borne illnesses. The visit, aimed at gathering on‑ground data, forms part of the centre’s routine surveillance program for high‑risk states.
During the tour, Dr. Jain met district health officers, examined case registers and inspected vector‑control measures such as fogging operations and larval source management. Officials presented recent trends in reported cases, highlighting pockets of increased transmission that require intensified monitoring.
The director emphasized the need for coordinated action between state health authorities and the NCVBDC to strengthen early warning systems, community awareness and rapid response mechanisms. He urged local administrations to sustain preventive activities ahead of the monsoon season, when mosquito breeding typically surges.
The findings from the three‑day review will be compiled into a report to guide policy adjustments and resource allocation for vector‑borne disease control in Madhya Pradesh.
