Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appealed for increased women’s participation in leadership and inclusive growth during his address at the ENWO conference in Nagaland.
At the ENWO conference held in Nagaland, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio highlighted the importance of women's leadership in achieving inclusive development.
He noted that women's participation in decision‑making bodies remains low and called for policies that empower women across sectors, including education, health, and entrepreneurship.
Rio urged political parties, civil society and the private sector to create platforms for women leaders, citing the state's own progress in gender‑sensitive schemes as a model.
The CM also announced that his government will review existing programs to ensure they address gender gaps and promised to allocate additional resources for women‑focused initiatives.
Observers said the remarks align with the central government's emphasis on gender equality and could boost women's representation in Nagaland’s political and economic spheres.
