Sikkim Conducts Recce Ahead of 2026 Adventure Tourism Festival

Officials from the state tourism department visited key sites in Sikkim on Monday to assess infrastructure and safety measures ahead of the Adventure Tourism Festival 2026. The reconnaissance focused on popular trekking routes, water‑rescue facilities, and accommodation capacity in the region. The team also met with local guides and community leaders to gather feedback on visitor experience and identify any gaps.
The objective of the visit is to ensure that the festival, scheduled for late October, will run smoothly and meet international safety standards. By identifying potential bottlenecks early, authorities aim to enhance the appeal of Sikkim as a premier adventure destination.
The recce is part of a broader initiative to boost tourism in the northeast and position Sikkim as a year‑round destination for adventure seekers.
