Law enforcement agencies in Mizoram have detained a Myanmar national found in possession of 100 soap cases containing heroin.
Mizoram has witnessed a significant crackdown on cross-border drug trafficking as authorities arrested a national from Myanmar. The suspect was apprehended while in possession of a substantial quantity of narcotics concealed within everyday household items.
According to the initial reports, the drugs were hidden inside 100 cases of soap. This method of concealment suggests an attempt to smuggle the contraband across the border by disguising it as common consumer goods.
The arrest highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Indian security forces in curbing the flow of narcotics from neighboring countries. Mizoram, sharing a long border with Myanmar, remains a critical zone for monitoring such illicit activities.
The seized material has been taken into custody for further examination and legal proceedings. The incident underscores the continued vigilance required to protect the region from the drug menace.
