The city’s 101 fire emergency number is currently malfunctioning, prompting authorities to circulate five alternative contact numbers for fire services.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade’s dedicated 101 emergency helpline has encountered technical glitches, leaving callers unable to connect to fire‑rescue services. The issue was first reported early this week when several residents experienced call drops and automated error messages.
In response, the municipal fire department issued a list of five backup telephone numbers that can be used to report fires and request assistance. These numbers are being broadcast through local media, the brigade’s official website, and social‑media channels to ensure rapid dissemination.
Officials have assured the public that engineers are working round the clock to restore the primary 101 line. Meanwhile, citizens are urged to use the alternate contacts for any fire‑related emergencies and to stay alert for further updates from the fire department.
