Jharkhand police marked Police Commemoration Day with a ceremony to remember personnel who lost their lives while on duty.
Police Commemoration Day was observed across Jharkhand as senior police officials, families of the deceased and other dignitaries gathered to pay tribute to officers who died in the line of duty. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag followed by a moment of silence, after which wreaths were laid at a memorial dedicated to fallen personnel.
In speeches, the Director General of Police highlighted the courage and sacrifice of the departed officers, urging current personnel to uphold the same standards of service. Relatives of the martyrs were invited to share brief recollections, and a token of appreciation was presented to each family as a mark of respect.
The observance underscores the state's commitment to honouring its police force and serves as a reminder of the risks inherent in maintaining law and order. Such annual commemorations are part of a broader national practice aimed at preserving the memory of those who have given their lives for public safety.
