Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the transfer of ₹1,835 crore as the 40th instalment of the Ladli Bahna scheme to the bank accounts of over 12.5 million women in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav confirmed that the state government has transferred ₹1,835 crore to the bank accounts of more than 12.5 million women as the 40th tranche of the Ladli Bahna scheme. The payment, made from the Agra‑Malwa district treasury, marks the latest disbursement under the programme that aims to provide financial support to married women from economically weaker sections.
The Ladli Bahna Yojana, launched in 2020, allocates a fixed amount to each eligible woman on a quarterly basis. With this latest installment, the cumulative benefit to beneficiaries now exceeds ₹2,000 crore, reinforcing the state’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion.
During the announcement, CM Yadav urged the opposition Congress party to acknowledge the government’s delivery of promised welfare measures, saying the party should “open its eyes” and recognize that the scheme’s promises are being fulfilled.
