The municipal authorities in Mohali have approved plans to replace the defunct hospital premises with a contemporary park featuring green spaces and recreational facilities.
Mohali’s civic administration announced that the land occupied by an obsolete hospital will be cleared to develop a modern public park. The decision, taken after a series of site assessments, aims to repurpose the underutilised area for community use.
The proposed park will include landscaped lawns, walking and jogging tracks, children’s play zones, and seating areas. Officials expect construction to begin within the next few months, with completion targeted for late 2027.
City officials highlighted that the green space will improve air quality, provide a safe recreation spot for families, and enhance the overall aesthetic of the neighbourhood. Local residents have welcomed the plan, citing a need for more open spaces in the rapidly urbanising sector.
