The local MLA announced that the state government will establish a dialysis unit at the Bobbili Urban Health Centre in Andhra Pradesh.

The elected representative from Bobbili disclosed that the state health department has approved the creation of a dedicated dialysis unit within the Bobbili Urban Health Centre. The facility is expected to address the growing demand for renal care among residents of Vizianagaram district and surrounding rural areas.

According to the MLA, the project will be funded through existing government health schemes and is slated to become operational by the end of the next fiscal year. Medical staff will be recruited locally, and the centre will be equipped with modern dialysis machines to ensure quality treatment.

The announcement was made during a public meeting attended by local officials and community members, who welcomed the move as a significant step toward improving chronic kidney disease management in the region.

Health authorities have indicated that the new unit will complement existing services at district hospitals, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for treatment. The initiative aligns with the state’s broader agenda of strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure.

Further details on the unit’s capacity, staffing, and patient eligibility criteria will be released by the health department in the coming weeks.
