The Government of Mizoram has announced a target of Rs 25 lakh crore for its Gross State Domestic Product by 2047, with Chief Minister Lalduhoma urging the strengthening of institutions to achieve this goal.
The Government of Mizoram has set a long‑term economic target of Rs 25 lakh crore for its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) by the year 2047. The announcement was made during a policy briefing held by the state’s economic planning department.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma, speaking at the event, emphasized that reaching this ambitious figure would require a concerted effort to strengthen institutional frameworks across the state. He highlighted the need for better governance, improved infrastructure, and a conducive environment for investment.
According to recent estimates, Mizoram’s current GSDP stands at roughly Rs 1.5 lakh crore. The target therefore represents a substantial growth trajectory over the next three decades, aligning with the state’s vision of becoming a high‑income economy.
The CM’s remarks come as part of a broader strategy to attract private investment, boost local industries, and enhance public services. Officials say that institutional reforms will be central to sustaining the projected growth and ensuring inclusive development for all residents.
