The Mizoram government has directed all homestays, hotels and other accommodation providers to report the details of foreign guests to authorities under a newly enacted law. The measure aims to enhance monitoring of international tourists visiting the state.

The Mizoram tourism department issued a notification requiring homestays, hotels, guest houses and similar establishments to submit information about any foreign nationals staying at their premises. This directive applies to all such accommodation providers operating within the state.

As per the new regulation, operators must provide guests' passport details, nationality, date of arrival and expected date of departure to the concerned district authorities. The information is to be shared within the stipulated time frame specified in the notification.

Officials said the step is intended to improve security, track tourist movements and ensure compliance with visa regulations, while also helping the state gather accurate data on international tourism. They emphasized that the measure supports both safety and better tourism planning.
