The Ministry of Home Affairs has introduced a 50% reservation for former Agniveer volunteers in Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles recruitment.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today announced a new recruitment policy that reserves half of the vacancies in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assam Rifles posts for ex‑Agniveer volunteers. The decision aims to reward the service of Agniveers, who have completed their mandatory 12‑month training and contributed to national security. Under the new scheme, 50% of the total positions will be earmarked exclusively for former Agniveers, ensuring a significant boost in their career prospects within the armed police. The policy is expected to streamline the selection process and provide a clear pathway for Agniveers seeking permanent roles in the CAPF and Assam Rifles. Officials said the move aligns with the government’s broader initiative to strengthen the armed forces with experienced personnel.
