The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) scheduled a Plate Group fixture between Meghalaya and Nagaland at Indore on 14 December 2026. The match formed part of the 2026‑27 Vijay Hazare Trophy, India's premier domestic one‑day competition.
Both sides, representing the northeastern states of India, travelled to the central venue as the tournament progresses through its group stage. The Plate Group features teams seeking promotion to the Elite divisions, making each encounter crucial for points and ranking.
The Indore venue, a regular host for domestic cricket, provided the necessary infrastructure for the 50‑over contest, aligning with BCCI's schedule to complete the group matches before the knockout phase begins later in the season.
