A 24‑year‑old pilgrim returning from Kubereswar Dham suffered a heart attack on the Malwa Express near Nishatpura; his relatives halted the train, allowing medical help to reach him.

Gaurav, a 24‑year‑old pilgrim from Sehore, was traveling back to Delhi on the Malwa Express after visiting the Kubereswar Dham. Mid‑journey, he experienced sudden chest pain, vomiting and dizziness, symptoms consistent with a cardiac event.

His family members, seated nearby, recognized the severity of his condition and quickly pulled the chain to request an emergency stop. The train halted near Nishatpura, a station on the outskirts of Bhopal, allowing railway staff and paramedics to attend to the passenger.

Medical personnel administered first‑aid and arranged for immediate transport to the nearest hospital. The prompt stoppage of the train is reported to have been crucial in stabilising the victim’s condition and preventing a fatal outcome.

Railway officials confirmed that the train resumed its schedule after the passenger was safely transferred to medical care. The incident underscores the importance of rapid response mechanisms on Indian Railways for health emergencies.
