Pushpendra Kumar, a local resident, attempted a 30‑foot jump into Pahuj Dam to film an Instagram reel, believing the water below would be deep enough to cushion the fall. The dam’s rocky bottom and shallow depth turned the stunt into a dangerous act, resulting in fractures to both legs. Friends present at the site immediately transported him to a private hospital for emergency care. Police have opened an inquiry into the incident after a video of the fall went viral online.
