Maharashtra to Deploy 136 Temporary Clinics and 190 Ambulances for Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027

Nashik will host the 2027 Kumbh Mela, drawing millions of devotees from across the country. Anticipating the massive influx, the Maharashtra health department has prepared a detailed medical response plan. The plan includes establishing 136 temporary medical facilities strategically located near major bathing ghats and congregation points.Each facility will be equipped with basic emergency care, medication dispensaries and staff comprising doctors, nurses and paramedics. In addition, 190 ambulances will be on standby, positioned at key locations to ensure rapid transport of patients to permanent hospitals if needed. The state government says the deployment is part of a broader safety framework that also involves police, fire services and disaster management teams to maintain a secure environment throughout the festival.
