Madhya Pradesh has received Geographical Indication (GI) tags for a remarkable 12 horticultural products. This achievement marks a significant step forward for the state's agriculture sector, particularly in horticulture.

The newly recognized products include famous local varieties such as Dhania from Kumbhraj and Brinjal from Barman Ghat, along with Lalmirch from Khargone, among others. This collective recognition is anticipated to provide these unique agricultural products with enhanced brand identity both domestically and internationally.

Securing GI tags is expected to significantly benefit the farmers associated with these crops. It will not only provide them with better market access and fairer prices but also contribute to an overall increase in their income, thereby strengthening the rural economy of Madhya Pradesh.
