Madhya Pradesh Promotes 1,050 Patwaris to Revenue Inspectors under New Scheme

The Madhya Pradesh government has initiated the promotion of 1,050 patwaris to revenue inspectors, preparing a primary list of eligible officers under 50 years appointed before June 2007, with the process to be completed by Jan 1 2026.
The state administration announced that the long‑standing demand of patwaris for promotion has been accepted, and a formal process to elevate 1,050 patwaris to the rank of revenue inspector has been launched.
Eligibility has been limited to officers who are younger than 50 years and who were appointed on or before June 2007. A primary list of such candidates has already been compiled, marking the first concrete step toward the promotion drive.
The move is expected to address a backlog that has persisted for years, improve morale among revenue staff, and strengthen the efficiency of land‑record management across Madhya Pradesh. The government has set a deadline of 1 January 2026 to finalise the appointments.
